This case is perfect for your Magellan. It has plenty of room for acessories and offers a safe and secure custom foam frame for the product. Once the Magellan is in place, the foam prevents it from moving inside the case. I would recommend it for anyone who owns a Magellan.

This case protects the GPS very well. Unfortunately, it’s bulky. Perhaps the combination is unavoidable.

This case is large enough to hold the GPS unit, power supplies and mounting bracket. My only complaint is that it came with two large styrofoam inserts that appear to be used for the GPS unit! One is all that is needed and the other can be discarded since it will not fit into the pouch with the other parts. The case is sturdy and has an adequate zipper that should not fail under normal use.

A necessity if you want to store your Magellan either temporarily, as when you park so no one will be tempted to steal it, or to keep it put away at home until you need it again. Also a good idea to have if you move your GPS from one vehicle to another.

5 Stars Wonderful Alternative to Windshield Mount/Docking Station
I agree entirely with the other reviewers on how well this works in the car as opposed to the windshield mount. However I found it works great as docking station for my TT 630. The TT 630 comes with just a usb cord and no docking station so I set this on my desk for home charging and updates, then pick the whole thing up and go. Pretty slick!

Works very well. I tried the supplied button from the TomTom for a dash mount and it was worthless. I didn’t like it on the windshield since it blocked my viw at times. This holds th unit just fine and stays put on my Honda Pilot dash without slipping. For anti theft I just pick the whole unit up and hide it in the glove compartment.
5 Stars A must have for your GPS
If you own a GPS for you car, you need this. This heavy base sits on your dashboard with a slip resistant bottom. You use the suction cup base of your GPS to attach it to the smooth plastic of the base. Then you just place it on your dash. Why would you want to fight with constantly sticking and removing it from your windshield? When I park my truck, I just put the GPS, base and all, into my center console compartment. Anyone looking for electronics to steal won’t see my GPS. Better still, they won’t see the suction rings on the windshield which is a sure give away that there is a GPS in the car.

This is an incredibly stable pad. Awesome in fact. I had tried the Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad and it slid all over. It endangered not only the unit but me and my passengers. It knonked my wife on the knee pretty hard. You had to constantly be on edge that it would fall off.
This item though is like super-glue. It sticks on EVERY turn and I am using it on the same exact dashboard the Bracketron would slide constantly on. This has not slid once on any turn, sharp U-turns included. I can not get it to budge. As an added bonus it is much smaller than the Bracketron hence easier to transfer between cars or stick in a glove department. It is usually priced higher than the Bracketron but it will be the best extra few dollars you have spent.

I couldn’t imagine this thing clinging to the dash when I made quick stops and sharp turns but it does. Works great with my Tom Tom with plenty of clearance for the cable connection at the bottom. Buy with confidence!

This product was the answer I was looking for to mount my Garmin Etrex Legend handheld GPS to my ATV for trail use. The price was very much a factor in purchasing it from Amazon.com. It was received and delivered as advertised and it works GREAT. I can now trail ride on my ATV in the Michigan North Woods with confidence that I will find my way back.

I received this item yesterday. I mounted it on the handle bars of my bicycle and snapped the Garmin etrex Venture HC GPS unit in. It fit perfectly. The mount can be adjusted to position the GPS unit so you can properly read the display.
My only complaint is that no assembly and install instructions are included but if you look at the picture of the mount, it’s simple enough to assemble. You will have a few parts left over as they include parts to be able to mount it on various sized bars.
It’s solid and well built. It’s well worth the price.

This RAM handlebar mount for a Garmin Vista HCx is “solid as a rock”… I have it mounted on motorcycle and it doesn’t shake/vibrate at all. The articulated arm helps to position the gps where ever you want it.

I bought this mounting system to hold my Garmin GPS for my motorcycle. The two ball joints make the mount position easily in pretty much any direction. The U-clamp to hold it on the handlebars is sturdy, and when all is tight the mount does not move. It even comes with a little plastic clip to attach to your GPS lanyard and clip to the mount in case the GPS either comes loose or you take it out and drop it. Great product!
5 Stars Simple, Strong, and Durable.
I mounted my Garmin etrex Venture HC to the handlebar of my Yamaha XT225 dualsport motorcycle using this RAM mount.
Installation was straightforward, and the ball mount let’s me adjust to many different positions. This was really helpful, as free space is scarce on the handlebar, limiting my options for where to attach it.
This mount holds my GPS unit firmly, allowing no noticeable vibration. I even dropped my bike at 25mph when I hit a patch of ice on a dirt road, and the GPS stayed perfectly still, out of harm’s way. I am impressed.
I also like how easy it is to remove my GPS unit from the mount. When I park the bike in public, I do not want to leave the GPS out in the open for someone to snag, and removing it from this mount is as easy as pulling open the two tabs at the top.

I love this product, when it works! I bought three of them for my family to use, and at least 2 out of the three have not worked on occasion. One of them doesn’t turn on anymore and then decides to turn on when not needed. There is obviously some issue with this device. I’ve had problems with the one I use too, it overheats easily and malfunctions quite frequently. When it works its fantastic but when it doesn’t there is no point in having it at all. It can’t be relied upon. I wish I could find another device more reliable. I wouldn’t recommend this model.

5 Stars Highly recommended the Magellan roadmate 1212 five stars
I got mine yesterday, new in the box, from Amazon for $122. It shipped free, if you can wait for about a week. The units works great out of the box. It acquired the satellite signal quickly, which I was so please. I bought (and returned) Garmin 580, borrowed another Garmin Nuvi (forgot the model number) and both were perfomed miserably. The G580 could not get a signal for 20 minutes on its first try; on the 2nd try, it took ONE HOUR! Additionally, it lost signal many times when I passed by rows of trees. The Nuvi was a little better in aquiring the signal, but it led me on a goose chase, took much longer route to get to my hotel from Disney, which supposed to be less than 4 miles. It also lost signal occasionally.
This Magellan 1212 is excellent. So far I got all bars (strong signal), and lost just 1 bar when I was in a parking garage that had 2 floors above me. The unit is compact. I read somewhere that people complained about the small screen, and even someone cracked the screen with light touch. I keep the screen adhesive on, just in case. It does not have all bells and whistles like blue tooth and live traffic update. I personally don’t care because my Volvo has blue tooth, and I know my city well to avoid the hot spots. So it serves my purpose of street navigation. I heard somewhere people said about its short battery time. I have not taken out of the car yet. It does not have the wall charger and USP cable. The manual comes in CD-ROM. Don’t spend $ buying the universal friction dash mount like I did. The unit comes with an adhesive pad for your dash board, and a windshield suction. It speaks the street names, anounces the turn well before, and auto-completes the spelling. 3 Stars Mixed bag…
I actually purchased my 1212 broken off ebay. After some tweaking, I managed to make the darn thing boot again and got some software reloaded on it. Beginning with the original software, I must say I was very disgusted in the quality. I find the menu’s to be extremely clunky, the voice prompts annoying, and the map data not so up to date.
This aside, I REALLY like the quality of this device. The screen is exceptionally bright and crisp. The touch screen is very accurate. Build quality is exceptional with nice plastic and very ridged seams. It’s ashame the software is on such a lower level than the hardware…
And to follow up with some other reviews, this device is VERY picky about chargers. None of my USB chargers will charge this device, and few will power it. That’s probably my biggest gripe about this device, besides the software. However, that much can be fixed (ahem…not to be mentioned here…)

This gps is great. You must download all the updates for the maps and the firmware for it to work correctly, but once you do that it will work great. I recommend buying the national geographic TOPO for your state. It is worth the price and is easily downloaded onto your gps.

This is a quality product, except it comes with very sketchy instructions and is pretty complicated to operate. I wish Magellan epuipped the product with a more detailed operations manual. Not for a newbie.
1 Star Poor Set Up and Low Resolution Topo
Just got the unit with the TOPO Explorer deluxe. First problem is the set up which as others have noted is complicated. I got the latest firmware upgrade from Magellan’s VP site and the TOPO software still doesn’t find the 1500. The Vantage Point software finds the unit, but the TOPO doesn’t. I see on other reviews that you can search the web and figure it out, but why do I need to figure out their messed up software? They sell both products, you would kind of assume that they work together! Second problem is that the TOPO software frequently crashes on my computer (Toshiba laptop with XP pro.)
Next is the resolution of the TOPO software. If all you need is very limited 10 mile resolution for TOPO it will work, but if you want to see any detail (like maybe you want to actually hike a trail) you have to purchase additional maps. Exactly what did I pay $59.00 for besides an expensive index of where to purchase what is actually useful?
Display: Poor, maybe due to the extra layer for the touch screen, but almost useless in the sun.
Got the 1500 on a closeout at Walmart for $199.00 so I may work through the problems. But I have to ask myself if my time is worth more than $1.00 per hour so I will see how much time it actually takes to work through the problems. If I had paid $400.00 it would be going back today!
Before you purchase, read some of the reviews at the gadget and GPS sites. Unlike some glowing reports here that appear to have been written by Magellan plants you will see realistic reviews. Read about all of the product and software problems and absolutely believe them!
5 Stars Triton better then reviewed
I purchased the 1500 to replace my older merridian marine unit made by Magellan, I love it so far! We just spent a week in South Central Oregon Antelope hunting/Geocaching and the only thing I dont like about the unit so far is that it wont do Autorouting. I run Topo and City street software to get the detail I want and it has worked flawlessly so far.

I can’t really review this product beyond its inability to be used in conjunction with the Mac. Since current GPS models require interaction with a computer the Triton becomes useless if you use a Mac. Operation seemed ok in those areas that were checkable, however, I moved on to the Garmin Oregon and recommend it highly for Mac users wanting GPS!

The unit came with plugs for house and car and both temporary and permanent attachments for the car. It does what it says it will do, I just wish that it said “turn here” instead of just giving a bell ring–I tend to ignore those. Anyway, I like it and would buy it again (especially at the refurbished price).

I have ordered two of these for my children for Christmas…..both didnt want to tell me that neither one of them worked til now. This stinks, now I have to try and figure out if Magellan will stand by this product or did I just made an expensive error. With two items being defective and factory refurbished not fixed….I would not waste my time or money. Spend the extra get something that has not been returned!!!
3 Stars Good GPS, bundled accessories are iffy.
The GPS works very well. The maps are old, but that’s not a huge deal. My main beef is with the chargers. Neither one fits into the socket on the GPS particularly well, so the battery shutoff reminder is almost constantly being activated. Also, the fuse in the car charger is very fickle, so we’ve had to replace that more than once already. If it weren’t for these issues, it would have been a 5 star review.

This is a great product! I love it! The only problem I have is that some streets aren’t in the system. My current street is not, and I’ve lived here for two years! Oh well, can’t have everything! I love the fact hat I can search by Points of Interest. This is a BIG help!
5 Stars Great GPS
I brought this for a gift for my husband and we used it the day he got it. It works great and he was pleased with it and so was I. We went to Chicago and got lost because we didn’t follow the directions it gave, but it got us back on track and we ended up where we wanted to be pretty quick. After that my husband was convinced that this thing knew what it was doing! I was worried that a refurbished one would be a problem, but so far, so good. I liked saving money and my husband liked the ability to go places without having to download maps, etc.
